Javea Home Finders

Javea is regarded, by those who know it, as the jewel of the Costa Blanca. It is situated on the most easterly point of mainland Spain, with its wonderful natural scenery of capes, coves and beaches.

About Javea

The town is landmarked by the impressive bulk of the mountain Montgo rising to a height of 743m above the Mediterranean. Approximately 100kms from Valencia and 90 kms from Alicante, Javea was voted one of the healthiest places in the world to live, by the World Health Organisation, and boasts 320 days of sunshine a year! The town of Javea consists of three centres: the Old Town (Pueblo), the Port (Puerto) and the beach area (Arenal) - each with its own distinct identity.
The Old Town (Pueblo)
This is the old town centre, full of medieval history preserved throughout the centuries. Here you can wander through the maze of narrow streets and small plazas. The Gothic fortified church of San Bartolome, which dates back to the 15th century, dominates the centre of the town. At the side of the church is a beautiful Neo Gothic building which houses the indoor market where you can buy local fresh produce daily. The popular and colourful outdoor market takes place every Thursday in the market place.
The website Port (El Puerto)
Originally a fishing community the Port has now become one of the main tourist attractions of the town.

Here you will find the ancient quarters of narrow streets with the simple whitewashed fishermans houses. It is lively and bustling the whole year round, with many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants - just the place to sit, relax, enjoy a glass of local wine and watch the fishing boats bring in the day's catch. From the heart of the port rises the magnificent structure of the church of Our Lady of Loreto with a ceiling which imitates the hull of a ship. The marina has facilities for all forms of sailing and water sports.
The Beach area (El Arenal)
The safe and spacious blue flag beach gently slopes into the warm Mediterranean sea. The promenade has a large number of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants providing a variety of food to suit all tastes. Many of the bars have live music and there are several discotheques for those that like to dance the night away.
